在器官移植和肝胆胰外科领域成绩卓著，在国际上首次提出肝癌肝移植受者选择的“杭州标准”及移植后乙肝复发防治新方案。截止2021年9月，成功施行肝移植3600余例，受者生存率达国际先进水平；多年来致力于肝移植技术的创新和推广应用，2010年率中国肝移植团队跨出国门，远赴印度尼西亚成功开展5例活体肝移植，为国争光，被高度评价为器官移植外交的里程碑。担任器官移植领域2项 “973计划”项目首席科学家，主持国家科技重大专项课题、国家自然科学基金重点项目、创新群体，教育部长江学者和创新团队发展计划等。发表论文600余篇，任《国际肝胆胰疾病杂志》（SCI收录）主编、《中华移植杂志》（电子版）总编辑。荣获国家科技进步特等奖1项、一等奖(含创新团队奖)2项、国家科技进步二等奖2项、荣获2013年度何梁何利基金“科学与技术进步奖”，主持的“肝癌肝移植新型分子分层体系研究”这项创新性研究获得2016年度中国高等学校十大科技进展，荣获2016年度中央电视台年度科技创新人物。

Prof. Zheng has made outstanding achievements in the field of organ transplantation and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, and proposed the "Hangzhou standard" for the selection of liver transplant recipients for liver cancer and a new prevention and treatment plan for hepatitis B recurrence after transplantation for the first time in the world. By September 2021, more than 3,600 liver transplants have been successfully performed, and the survival rate of recipients has reached the international advanced level. For many years, the Chinese liver transplant team has been committed to the innovation and promotion of liver transplantation technology. In 2010, the Chinese liver transplant team went abroad to Indonesia to successfully carry out 5 living donor liver transplants, winning honor for the country and being highly regarded as a milestone in organ transplant diplomacy. He served as the chief scientist of two "973 Plan" projects in the field of organ transplantation, and presided over major national science and technology special projects, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, innovation groups, Changjiang Scholars and innovation team development plans of the Ministry of Education, etc. He has published more than 600 papers and served as chief editor of the International Journal of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases (SCI) and chief editor of the Chinese Journal of Transplantation (electronic edition). Won one National Science and Technology Progress Grand Prize, two first prizes (including the Innovation team Award), two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress, won the 2013 Heliang Heli Foundation "Science and Technology Progress Award", presided over the "Research on Novel molecular stratification system of Liver Cancer Liver transplantation" the innovative research won the 2016 Top Ten scientific and technological Progress of Chinese universities. Won the 2016 CCTV Annual Science and Technology Innovation Figure.
